Argo council previews April Spring Festival, names clean-up lead and moves agenda items for formal approval

Mayor Randy Hettich told the Argo City Council at its March 9, 2026 work session that the city's Spring Festival is scheduled for April 18, 2026, and that Michelle Coalson will lead a City-Wide Clean-Up Campaign in advance of spring events.

The announcement came as the council reviewed items to be placed on the March regular meeting agenda. The mayor asked whether council members supported purchasing shirts for council members to wear at city functions and conferences; members agreed and asked that the proposal be added to the regular meeting agenda for formal consideration. The mayor also proposed moving the March regular meeting to March 16, 2026 because Spring Break is the week of March 23; council members agreed and the date change will be placed on the agenda for formal approval.

Councilperson Dennis Griffin also reported that the Business Alliance has begun accepting applications and that a few individuals have already signed up. The work session concluded without formal votes; the items described above will appear on the council's regular meeting agenda for action.
