Committee unanimously adopts HJR 10‑86 to approve judicial and public safety rules

A legislative committee voted unanimously to adopt HJR 10‑86, a joint resolution approving administrative rules for judicial and public safety that agencies submitted by the Feb. 1 deadline.

Vice Chair Norwood asked for presentation of the measure and Chair Kendrick moved for adoption. "So, move for adoption," Kendrick said, prompting the chair to open the voting queue with no further debate.

A clerk read aloud individual members' votes, including several recorded 'aye' votes—"McCain votes aye," "Timmons votes aye," "Waldron votes aye," and others—before the tally was read: "13 ayes, 0 nays. The measure passes," the clerk said. The committee declared the resolution adopted.

The resolution approves administrative rules submitted by agencies responsible for judicial and public-safety functions; the text of the rules and the agencies that submitted them were not read into the record during the session.

The committee moved on to other business after the vote. No amendments or recorded dissents were entered during the discussion.
