Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 30 approved a State Interconnectivity Grant totaling $230,699.51 to support multiple 911 maintenance and infrastructure projects.
EMA/911 Director Brian Barton presented the grant, which the board authorized for the following projects: SouthCentral Mountain CAD Maintenance; SouthCentral Mountain CHE Maintenance; SouthCentral Mountain ESInet Maintenance; Fulton NG911 GIS Maintenance; SouthCentral Mountain Battery Upgrade; and Fulton ILEC Maintenance. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also voted to hire Troy Wagaman for the position of Per Diem 911 Dispatcher, effective pending required clearances. The Salary Board met briefly at 9:48 a.m. to set the salary for the hire; the transcript does not record the salary amount.
