The Montana State Land Board voted unanimously to approve an easement package presented by DNRC that will affect six counties and benefit several state trust beneficiaries.
Director Castor summarized the easements as detailed in the board packet, identifying affected counties — Blaine, Chouteau, Mineral, Missoula, Phillips and Rosebud — and stating the total package value as $32,982. He said the easements covered buried natural gas pipeline, buried fiber optic cable, a private access road, highway bridge construction and buried electric lines, with proceeds to the common schools trust, Montana Tech, MSU Eastern and Western, and the Public Land Trust.
A motion to approve agenda item 0326-4 was made and seconded; the board voted by voice and approved the easement package unanimously.
No public comment or conditions were attached at the meeting. DNRC staff will proceed with the conveyances consistent with statutory and administrative requirements and the terms outlined in the board packet.
