Snohomish County Council refers appointment of Christina Yu Wen Swadiner to committee after urgent vacancy

The Snohomish County Council on Tuesday referred for committee consideration a motion to appoint Christina Yu Wen Swadiner to represent District 4 on the Citizens Commission on Salaries of Elected Officials, citing an urgent vacancy.

A staff member told the council that "the person that was selected for this position by lot, resigned on Friday and then the executive office and the team supporting this commission got the ECAF up to us yesterday. Their next meeting is tomorrow, which is the request for the urgency to get this person appointed so that they can attend that meeting." The item was introduced on the record as a walk-on (spoken on the record as ECAF number "20Six-six88" and motion number "20 Six-one30").

The chair assigned the item to the committee of the whole for consideration at the council's general legislative session tomorrow; members did not take a final vote on the appointment during the administrative session. The referral was moved without objection. The committee will be the next opportunity for council action on the nomination.
