During the committee’s public-comment period several residents made forceful allegations and appeals related to property disputes, transit funding and county policy.
The clerk called the public-comment list and heard from speakers identified by staff as George Blakemore, Dennis White, Jessica Jackson and Zoe Lee. The speakers raised distinct complaints: one criticized perceived payroll and accountability issues in transportation, another said mass-transit funding and crime had deteriorated service, Jessica Jackson alleged county actions to evict her from probate property and urged referral to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, and Zoe Lee accused officials of misusing TIF and other funds while announcing pending legal action.
Jessica Jackson cited an Illinois statutory reference in arguing that heirs have a right to occupy probate property and asked the sheriff’s office to investigate what she described as a fraudulent case number on her property’s door. Department staff limited public-comment time and several speakers were cut off when their allotted time expired.
The chair reminded speakers the meeting’s business focus was transportation and warned that persistent deviations from the agenda could result in a loss of permission to speak at committee meetings.
These remarks were delivered during the formal public-comment period and did not prompt immediate committee action or staff commitments during the meeting.
