Yanceyville schedules annexation hearing for Starr parcel and appoints zoning administrator

The Yanceyville Town Council on March 16, 2021 scheduled a public hearing on voluntary annexation for the Starr property, identified as Caswell County Tax Map Number 82, Parcel 36 on NC Highway 62 North, and appointed Ginger Booker as the town’s zoning administrator.

Mayor Alvin Foster asked for a motion to set the annexation hearing for Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. Councilman Brian Massey moved to set the date; Councilman Keith Tatum seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Separately, Mayor Foster moved to appoint Ginger Booker as the Town of Yanceyville zoning administrator; Councilman Massey moved the appointment, Councilman Tatum seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

The council’s minutes also note that meeting rules and procedures reflect revisions to North Carolina’s open meeting law (North Carolina General Statutes) and that materials are available upon request. The minutes record no public comment on these items.
