The Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted the county s 2026 budget Dec. 30 and approved a State Interconnectivity Grant totaling $230,699.51 to support multiple 911 and communications maintenance projects.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed; the motion carried with all commissioners voting in favor. Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed told the board there were no changes to the proposed budget since it was publicly advertised. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann subsequently moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution for fiscal year 2026; the resolution was adopted with no increase in taxes for 2026.
The board also approved the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston and had earlier voted to approve accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (General Fund $98,764.92; Debt Service $14,148.95).
EMA/911 Director Brian Barton and HR Administrator Mary Huston briefed the commissioners on a State Interconnectivity Grant. Commissioner Wible moved to approve and execute the grant agreement for $230,699.51 to be used toward SouthCentral Mountain CAD maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain battery upgrades, and Fulton ILEC maintenance projects; the board voted unanimously to accept the funding.
The meeting record shows the board also approved administrative items including the December pension report and advertised planning commission meeting dates for fiscal year 2026 as presented by Justin Evans, Per Diem Mapping and Planning Director. The board hired Troy Wagaman as a per diem 911 dispatcher, pending clearances; a brief Salary Board meeting at 9:48 a.m. set the dispatcher s salary.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the commissioners office in McConnellsburg; the board recessed into an executive session on personnel matters at 10:01 a.m. and returned at 10:29 a.m. The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
