Mayfield to solicit bids for 2026 road maintenance, names target streets

Mayfield public works staff said the town will put its FY2026 road maintenance package out for sealed bids and plans to cover roughly 17,700 square yards of resurfacing. Jake, the public works representative, identified the priority streets as 400 East, Park Road up to Orchard Road, 720 North, 780 North and a short block in front of John Glauser’s house.

Jake said the town’s road fund should cover the project and noted crack sealing was completed last month by SKS Trucking. “We figured the square yard is on it would be about 17,700 square yards, which is about all we do every year,” he said. Jake told the council he would put the project out for bids that night and that sealed bids will be opened and recorded at the next council meeting; he asked Travis to open them at that time.

The council discussed procurement and timing. Jake said the deadline for submissions will be the day before the council meeting and that the town will accept bids through 4 p.m. the day prior to the meeting. Council members asked staff to record and publicly open the sealed bids at the next meeting so the process is transparent.
