A Pulaski County quorum court committee on March 10 amended the budget language for an Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) peer-recovery specialist grant and voted to send the amended ordinance to the full quorum court with a "do pass" recommendation.
Amy read ordinance 26 I 09, described as an amendment to the 2025–26 annual budget to recognize and appropriate grant funds for the 11th Division Circuit Courts. Justice Capps moved to send the ordinance to the full court; the motion drew a second.
Tracy Davidson, who said she prepared the grant application, told the committee she had miscalculated indirect costs. "I figured the 15% against the entire grant, and it should have only been against the fringe and the salaries," she said, explaining the change corrected the county's 15% calculation. She said about $2,000 that had been listed incorrectly was reallocated to training and education for peer support staff, including travel, lodging and meals for an annual conference.
Committee members then moved to amend the ordinance to reflect the corrected budget language. The clerk called the roll on the amendment; it passed with 13 ayes. The committee then voted 13–0 to send 26 I 09, as amended, to the full quorum court with the committee's "do pass" recommendation.
The measure will appear on the full court's agenda for final consideration.
