Commission appoints Medrano to South Fork Ranch PDD rezoning work group

The Planning and Zoning Commission selected Commissioner Medrano to serve on a small work group to negotiate plan development district (PDD) terms for the remainder of the South Fork Ranch property.

Staff explained the PDD process will be collaborative and iterative: the work group will meet with staff and the applicant to draft recommended terms for a PDD that city council can consider in negotiations with the developer. "The PDD is going to be a creative and collaborative process," the staff member said, noting meetings may include in-person sessions and back-and-forth by email.

Commissioner Medrano was nominated by a fellow commissioner, the motion was seconded and recorded in the minutes; staff said the group will be primarily staff-led but would welcome commissioner input and could accommodate members who miss occasional meetings by briefing them and circulating materials.

Staff will record the volunteer in the meeting minutes and proceed with initial coordination for the work group.
