Commission approves minutes and cancels June–July meetings; public water-rate meeting set for June 5

The Oro Valley Water Utility Commission approved the 03/11/2024 regular-session minutes and the 04/12/2024 study-session minutes; both motions were moved and seconded and passed by voice vote (one abstention noted on the April minutes). Later in the meeting a motion to cancel the June and July regular commission meetings was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. Commissioners cited typically lighter summer agendas and the risk of not having a quorum during summer months.

Staff reminded commissioners that the town council will hold a public meeting on the proposed water-rate increase on June 5; commissioners were advised that council budget hearings run through mid-May and that the town’s fiscal year begins July 1. The commission is scheduled to reconvene in August.
