Hancock County schedules second reading of code readoption, signs letter backing Aureon grant for local childcare

At its March 11 meeting in Garner, the Hancock County Board of Supervisors gave first reading to an ordinance readopting portions of the Hancock County Code and repealing Ordinance 28.

Supervisor Florence 'Sis' Greiman moved the first reading; Supervisor Jerry J. Tlach seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The Board set March 18, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. for the second reading.

Also during the session the Board signed a letter of support for an Aureon grant application intended to benefit Garner Community Christian Childcare. The minutes record the Board's formal support but do not specify grant amount, program details, or applicant role beyond the named childcare provider.

No further business was conducted and the Board adjourned at 10:56 a.m.
