Hancock County supervisors approve full-time Veterans Affairs director position

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Feb. 12 to change the Veterans Affairs Administrator/Director position from part-time to full-time at 35 hours per week, effective July 1, 2024. Supervisor Florence “Sis” Greiman moved the measure, and Supervisor Jerry J. Tlach seconded; all supervisors present voted “Aye.”

The staffing change was approved as part of routine business after the board read and approved the minutes from its Feb. 5, 2024 meeting. The move to a 35-hour workweek for the Veterans Affairs position signals the county’s intent to increase staffing capacity in veteran services beginning with the next fiscal year.
