Minutes of the Laurel Park-Tree Board’s Jan. 8 meeting record several facilities updates for Riverside Park.
The minutes state that a tree at the American Legion building at Riverside Park was removed at a cost of $8,400; the record does not specify who paid for the removal or the funding source. The board also noted that a camper is currently parked at the Riverside Park campground and that Code Enforcement has been present daily.
Regarding Riverside Hall, Ace Electric provided three quotes covering lights, wiring and ceiling fans. The minutes say the Lions Club approved the work and is coordinating with the contractor on sheetrocking; the board discussed questions about who will pay for the project. The minutes also record discussion about options for BB gun shooters and a possible role for the Rod and Gun Club.
On the Laurel Rod and Gun Club building, the minutes say there is 'nothing new' and that members are still trying to locate owners of mounted heads; discussion included the drain field, gas for heat and a power shutoff but no resolutions were recorded.
The minutes do not record motions, vote tallies or funding commitments tied to these facility items.
