Greenville council accepts Hollyhock Drive Phase 3 into city street system

The Greenville City Council unanimously approved Resolution No. 24-10 on April 2, accepting Hollyhock Drive Phase 3 into the city’s public street system to enable the city to furnish required information to the State of Michigan for Act 51 funding.

Councilperson Moss introduced the resolution and Councilperson Cunliffe seconded; the council voted 7-0 in favor. The resolution records that Westview Capital, LLC deeded the recently completed street to the City of Greenville and that the centerline description and legal description were provided to place the street within the city’s Local Street System. The resolution states the road was open to the public before Dec. 31, 2023.

The action allows the city to submit information to the State under Act 51, P.A. 1951, the statute that governs distribution of certain road funds. Council did not debate the item at length at the meeting and took the vote as presented.

The council’s formal adoption of Resolution 24-10 completes the city’s acceptance process for Hollyhock Drive Phase 3; the resolution’s technical centerline description and the fact that the street is within the city right-of-way are recorded in the meeting minutes.
