Greenville City Council unanimously approves consent agenda, historic district rules and several contracts

The Greenville City Council on Feb. 20 unanimously approved routine minutes and financial reports, adopted a package of Historic District materials, and awarded several procurement contracts for city operations.

Councilperson Moss moved to approve the Consent Agenda, Councilperson Cunliffe seconded, and the motion was unanimously adopted. The consent items included approval of minutes from Feb. 6 and several January board minutes, payroll of $159,179.23, accounts payable of $713,086.81, and authorization to set a March 19 public hearing on a motor-vehicle ordinance (Chapter 42, Article I).

Separately, Councilperson Johnson moved to approve the Historic District Guidelines, Bylaws, Conflicts of Interest Policy, COA Process Flowchart, and Application Packet; Councilperson Moss seconded and the motion was adopted unanimously.

On procurement matters, the council approved the following awards (all motions carried unanimously): a contract for installation of security cameras for election drop boxes, City Hall and Public Safety to Hillard Electric of Cedar Springs, Michigan, not to exceed $23,753; a bid award to Kiesler Police Supply Inc. of Jeffersonville, Indiana for ammunition meeting specifications, not to exceed $2,252.59; purchase of a 2025 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle from Ed Koehn Ford of Greenville, Michigan, not to exceed $44,184.94; and purchase of three 3/4-ton pick-up trucks from Ed Koehn Ford, not to exceed $153,663.24.

Council also recognized the promotion of Brandon Allen to the rank of Sergeant in the Public Safety Department and adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m.

All votes recorded in the meeting summary were unanimous; the transcript lists present council members as Mayor Jeff Scoby and Councilpersons Barrus, Johnson, Linton, Lehman, Cunliffe, and Moss.
