Madison County Board approves committee assignments, names Chris Guy executive chair and sets meeting schedule

After electing a chairperson pro tem, the Madison County Board moved to committee business and approved a slate of committee assignments and the county’s regular meeting schedule for the next biennium.

Chairperson Pro Tem Mick Madison moved to adopt the committee assignments and proposed appointing Chris Guy as chair of the Executive Committee. County legal counsel confirmed that, once the pro tem is seated, the pro tem can make nominations for committee positions. The motion to appoint Chris Guy and approve the assignments passed unanimously (Ayes 26).

The board also approved a resolution establishing regular monthly meeting dates and times for 2022–2024; the roll call recorded 26 ayes and no nays. The resolution lists specific dates for each month through November 2024.

The board adjourned at 5:54 p.m. after the committee and scheduling votes concluded.
