Cibola County Commission approves procurement policy, pool and transit funding; tables bridge bid

The Cibola County Board of County Commissioners approved a series of routine and programmatic items at its Sept. 28 meeting, voting unanimously on several measures and tabling consideration of a bridge procurement.

Commissioners approved Resolution 2023-45 adopting an internal county procurement policy (motion by Commissioner Ralph Lucero; second by Commissioner Robert Windhorst). The commission also approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Milan to contribute $75,000 toward operation of the Milan Swimming Pool (Lucero motion, Windhorst second) and approved $51,917 in support for the Rockin 66 Express Transit Program (same movers).

The board approved requisitions over $20,000, including a vehicle radio package with repeater for the sheriff’s office from Specialty Communications totaling $24,743.47 (motion by Windhorst; second by Lucero). The commission also approved a proclamation in support of the New Mexico Nurse Practitioner Council and recognizing National Nurse Practitioner Week, Nov. 12–18, 2023.

By contrast, the commission voted 3-0 to table consideration of IFB #2024-001 (County Road 5 bridge replacement general contractor); the motion to table was offered by Commissioner Windhorst and seconded by Commissioner Lucero. Earlier in the meeting the board unanimously approved the agenda and minutes for five prior meetings.
