The Nelson County Board on April 9 approved a set of administrative actions, adopting a non‑exclusive Lovingston logo usage agreement and authorizing the date for the FY25 budget public hearing.
The draft Lovingston Logo Usage Agreement, presented by Maureen Kelley in the Department of Tourism & Economic Development, establishes a $25 application fee, requires applicants to submit proofs of intended use, reserves approval rights for the county and prohibits alteration or unauthorized sub‑branding of the logo. The board approved Resolution R2024‑29 authorizing the county to execute the usage agreement to preserve a consistent brand for Lovingston.
Separately, County Administrator Candice McGarry proposed moving the FY25 budget public hearing to June 4 to allow more time for staff and the board to finalize outstanding budget items; the board approved Resolution R2024‑30 to hold the public hearing on June 4 at 7:00 p.m., with the goal of adopting the budget at the June 11 meeting.
Board members said the logo agreement will be managed by the Department of Tourism & Economic Development and that the fee and proof requirements aim to make the brand available but controlled. The hearing date change provides at least seven days between the public hearing and the planned June 11 adoption.
