Residents ask Snowflake to move Parks yard, urge council to oppose nearby solar farm

At the start of the Nov. 4 meeting several residents used the Call to Public to press the Snowflake Town Council on local neighborhood and community concerns.

Angie Daniel said the Sandtrap/Hillcrest lot currently used as the Parks yard is an “eyesore” and “dangerous” and asked the council to relocate the yard and convert the parcel to a grassy park. Tyler Daniel, who said he has lived in Snowflake a little over a year, echoed neighbors and urged the council to move the yard. Angie asked that the topic be put on another work session for further discussion; the minutes record the request but show no formal action at this meeting.

Louise Liggett told the council there is a meeting at the Best Western the following day about a proposed solar farm project and asked council members to attend. Liggett said a solar farm “is crazy to have ... so close to civilization,” asserting that such installations create heat islands and consume large amounts of water, and asked the town to use any influence to try to stop the project. No town staff response or action on the solar topic is recorded in the minutes.

Faith, identified as manager of the Silver Creek Senior Center, asked for help with the center’s Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., requesting $100 sponsors for each of eight top tables to help fund free meals.

The minutes record these public comments and the request to place the Parks yard topic on a future work session; no formal council decision on the lot or the solar project is listed in the meeting record.
