Chase County accepts Anchor Roofing bid for courthouse and fairgrounds roof repairs; cleaning contract awarded

At a May 14 meeting, the Chase County Commissioners opened three bids for courthouse and fairgrounds roof repairs and accepted the bid from Anchor Roofing & Landscaping at a combined total of $103,825. The board determined that a lower bid from Strong 1 LLC did not meet specifications and was therefore not considered; a Weathercraft Co. of McCook combined bid totaled $110,710.75.

Commissioners noted NIRMA will contribute $40,000 toward the roofing project; meeting minutes record that the remaining costs will be paid from LATCF funds. The roofing bids were opened at 8:30 a.m.; the motion to accept Anchor Roofing's bid carried unanimously.

Later in the meeting, at 8:50 a.m., the board opened two bids for courthouse and extension cleaning services and accepted Natalie Schra's bid to clean both buildings at $140 per day. The competing bid from Terri Roach was $200 per day. Commissioners recorded unanimous approval for the cleaning contract.

The board's recorded actions allocate insurance proceeds and county LATCF funds as noted; project scheduling and contractor start dates were not specified in the minutes.
