Calhoun County commissioners voted unanimously May 23 to increase American Rescue Plan Act funding for renovations at the county’s Landfill Transfer Station to an amount up to $1,300,000.
County Administrator Mark Tyner presented the amended ARPA resolution and told commissioners the change represented an update to a prior allocation for the project. Commissioner Henderson moved to adopt the resolution, Commissioner Wilson seconded, and the motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
The commission also approved an all‑inclusive ARPA change order of up to $110,479.96 for the same project. Commissioner Howell moved for adoption and Commissioner Henderson seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The measures were recorded as formal resolutions and adopted during the meeting; no public speakers opposed the funding adjustments and no separate vote counts beyond the unanimous voice approvals were recorded.
Next steps announced at the meeting included authorization of contract actions and change‑order administration under the previously approved procurement process for the transfer station renovation. Specific contractor names for the renovation work were not stated in the meeting notes.
