Calhoun County commissioners on May 9 approved a package of resolutions and contracts including a $451,536.12 rebuild of one D7E Cat dozer, a professional-services agreement for the Chief Ladiga ARPA project and an employment contract modification that changes the assistant county administrator position to chief financial officer.
Assistant County Administrator Melissia Wood presented the items in a single block of county-business resolutions. Wood said the Terracon Consultants agreement will provide services for the Chief Ladiga ARPA project; Commissioner Patterson moved adoption and Commissioner Howell seconded. The commission approved the Terracon agreement unanimously. Wood also presented a resolution authorizing the county engineer to submit a joint application to the U.S. Department of Transportation with the City of Anniston; Commissioner Henderson moved to adopt and Commissioner Wilson seconded; the motion passed.
The commission approved a resolution to apply for a grant not to exceed $5,200 to support community-wide events promoting out-of-state tourism; Commissioner Howell moved adoption and Commissioner Henderson seconded. The body adopted an FY23 Federal Audit contract with the Examiners of Public Accounts and a professional-services contract with G Squared related to the county’s GIS system; both contracts were adopted by unanimous voice vote after motions by Commissioner Henderson and seconds from Commissioner Wilson.
On personnel, Chairman Shears presented an employment contract modification that changes the title of the Assistant County Administrator to Chief Financial Officer; Commissioner Henderson moved adoption, Commissioner Howell seconded and the commission approved the change. The record indicates supporting documents and resolutions were placed on file for several items.
All motions on these resolutions and contracts were carried by unanimous voice votes with all commissioners present. The commission adjourned at 10:17 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for May 23, 2024.
