Parmer County adopts court confidentiality policy under SB 10

Parmer County Commissioners Court on March 25 voted to adopt a court confidentiality policy and employee agreement template required by SB 10, the judge said.

Judge Isabel Izzy Carrasco introduced the item, explaining SB 10 requires courts to have an adopted confidentiality policy and signed employee agreements. She presented a draft policy that she said had been approved by TAC. Commissioner Kirk Frye moved to adopt the suggested policy; Commissioner Kenny White seconded and the motion passed by a majority vote.

The approval instructs county officials to use the adopted policy and obtain signed confidentiality agreements from relevant court employees, as required by SB 10. The court record notes the policy was presented as an attachment to the minutes.
