Burleson County approves spring cleanup schedule and three‑trailer tire collection event

Burleson County Commissioners on Feb. 24 approved a suite of spring cleanup activities: the county will participate in the 2025 Brazos Valley Community Cleanup Challenge, host a three‑trailer tire collection beginning April 7 with special hours on April 12, and recognize three Keep Burleson County Beautiful “Spring Clean” events on April 5, April 26 and May 10 as official cleanup activities.

Commissioner Vincent Svec moved participation in the Brazos Valley Cleanup Challenge and the tire‑collection event; Commissioners David Hildebrand and Bobby Urbanosky seconded related motions. The court also approved free access to county collection stations for volunteers participating in the spring clean events when volunteers present a KBCB‑issued waiver. All motions passed unanimously.

The county designated the tire event and Keep Burleson County Beautiful dates as official parts of the regional Don’t Mess With Texas Trash‑Off and Great American Cleanup initiatives. Environmental Officer Jody Tillery said a trailer is set up for tire clean‑up and earlier enforcement work addressed untagged items valued at $1,500 at a collection station.
