The Washington County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a Community Transportation Program (CTP) application and accompanying resolution for FY2024 from Riverlight Transit at its Dec. 5 meeting.
During a public hearing opened by Commissioner Tracey A. Johnson, Riverlight Transit Transportation Supervisor Kim Blevins described both the administrative and capital grant components. Blevins clarified that the diagnostic software the system uses collects data from each Riverlight Transit vehicle and transmits it to the North Carolina Department of Transportation; the software is used only by Riverlight Transit and is not paid for by other county departments.
Commissioner Johnson asked whether other departments share the software costs; Blevins replied that they do not. After public comment was closed, Commissioner Keyes moved to approve the CTP application and resolution for FY24; Commissioner Phelps seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The meeting minutes state the grant documents will be attached to the official minutes.
