The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners on March 15 voted to hire a courthouse maintenance and groundskeeping worker and approved a $33,000 Nex-Tech security door system to be paid from the county Equipment Reserve Fund.
Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved to hire Mr. Pasley for courthouse maintenance pending completion of the required background check; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Alan A. Solko and carried. The minutes record the hiring as conditional on the successful background review.
On security upgrades, commissioners discussed a Nex-Tech system that would control access to the courthouse front and back doors, dispatch, sheriff and court-clerk areas, and the evidence room, using access cards, fobs and bracelets. The system includes a mobile app that is free for the first year but requires per-user fees afterward. Commissioner Solko moved to approve the $33,000 quote to be paid from the Equipment Reserve Fund; the motion carried.
The board also approved routine items including minutes from the Feb. 29 meeting, additions and abatements from the Appraiser’s Office, and the Code of Conduct required for the CVR grant. The board signed Resolution 2024-04 placing a special question on the August primary ballot regarding the RCHC mill levy.
The meeting adjourned at 11:01 a.m.
