The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners appointed Megan Rippe as EMS Director and Sara Ruda as Assistant EMS Director following a short executive session on non-elected personnel.
Commissioner Alan A. Solko moved to appoint Rippe and Ruda; Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded and the motion carried. No additional personnel terms or salaries were announced in open session.
Appraiser Alicia Baumfalk presented a Reach quote for an HP laptop and docking station to replace a staff computer and allow portable training use. Commissioner Solko moved to approve the purchase for $1,398 and Commissioner Mosley seconded; the motion carried.
Sheriff’s Office leadership asked that fleet vehicles be put on a purchasing schedule; County staff said one ordered vehicle is already being built. Dispatch reported it had moved to 12-hour shifts, alternating 36 and 44 hours to total 80 hours in a two-week period before overtime accrues, and commissioners agreed to allow that schedule. The board discussed options for selling surplus vehicles using sealed bids, Purple Wave or Big Iron with newspaper advertising.
The board made no binding commitments on a fleet replacement timeline beyond authorizing staff to proceed with planned purchases and sale methods.
