The Union County Board of Commissioners approved a package of budget transfers and a fund reassignment at its March 19 meeting.
The board voted to transfer $2,022,712.00 from the General Fund to the Highway budget, $275,370.00 from the General Fund to the 911 budget and $56,665.00 to the EMA budget for a combined total of $2,354,747.00. Commissioner Headid moved the transfer and Commissioner Joffer seconded; the motion carried.
In a separate motion, the board approved moving $125,000.00 from the General Fund to an Assigned Courthouse Improvement Fund. Commissioner Joffer moved the reassignment and Commissioner Dailey seconded; the motion carried.
The transfers were recorded in the minutes as budgeted amounts. No board member requested a roll-call tally in the minutes and the official record lists each motion as "carried." The minutes do not record additional conditions or contingencies attached to these transfers.
The board also approved a bundle of property tax abatements and audited claims during the same session; those items were recorded separately in the minutes.
