At its Jan. 8, 2026 meeting the Echols County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a set of routine appointments and contract awards.
Commissioner Bobbi Pohlman Rodgers moved to nominate Mrs. Charlene Davis to serve on the South Georgia Community Service Board for Legacy Behavioral Health and to nominate Mrs. Karen Black to the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council; Commissioner Kenneth Petty seconded both motions and both nominations carried unanimously, 4-0.
The board also approved the 2026 holiday schedule for county employees (motion moved by Commissioner Bobbi Pohlman Rodgers and seconded by Commissioner Kenneth Petty) and awarded the county’s lawn care contract to Southern Acres Lawn Care (motion moved by Commissioner Bobbi Pohlman Rodgers, seconded by Commissioner Kenneth Petty; vote 4-0). The commission accepted the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) engineering services award (moved by Commissioner Kenneth Petty, seconded by Commissioner Bobby Walker) and the CDBG administrative services award (moved by Commissioner Bobbi Pohlman Rodgers, seconded by Commissioner Bobby Walker); both carried 4-0. The meeting minutes do not list dollar amounts or contract terms for the CDBG awards or the lawn-care contract.
