During the Sept. 25 meeting the Fayette County Board of Commissioners approved routine consent agenda items and a staff recommendation to begin acquisition of fee-simple right-of-way and easements for a proposed roundabout and signalized RCUT at Hampton Road and SR 92 (a 2004 SPLOST R-21 project).
The Board also approved a Board of Assessors recommendation to refund $126.13 for tax year 2024 to George R. Redlich, adopted final supplemental budget adjustments for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025 and authorized closing capital projects and moving remaining funds to project contingency, and approved the Georgia Department of Transportation Title VI Non-Discrimination Agreement and Assurances. The Board declared fifty-seven vehicles and miscellaneous equipment unserviceable and authorized their sale via contracted auction services with proceeds returned to the vehicle replacement fund. Sept. 11, 2025 meeting minutes were approved as well.
County Administrator Steve Rapson briefed the Board on Hot Projects and recommended cancelling the Oct. 9 Board meeting because of a light agenda and staff travel to a conference; the Board voted to cancel the Oct. 9 meeting and the Digest reconciliation prompted notices that Special Called meetings would be held Oct. 16 (10 a.m. and 6 p.m.) for public hearings on the 2025 property tax millage rate, with a final hearing scheduled Oct. 23.
All consent and schedule actions were approved unanimously, 4-0 (Chairman Lee Hearn absent).
