The Irwin County Board of Elections & Registrations voted unanimously Friday to certify the results of the Nov. 4 municipal general and statewide special election after reading vote totals and signing certifying documents.
The board read each candidate’s totals and then voted to certify; the record states that the certifying paperwork and winners’ certificates were signed and sealed. The certification followed a recess that allowed the district’s provisional cure timeframe to end and the board to reconvene at the publicly published time.
The record shows 857 ballots were cast in the election and that five contests appeared on the ballot. Chairman Waymond Harris directed staff earlier in the meeting to ensure all members receive the same supporting documents, including the Absentee Voter Report.
No public comments were recorded during the meeting; the board scheduled its next meeting for Dec. 9 to set the 2026 schedule and adjourned at 5:19 p.m.
Actions recorded in the meeting minutes show motions to approve corrected minutes and to recess earlier in the afternoon, and the certification vote recorded as unanimous with certifying documents signed and sealed.
