The Irwin County Board of Elections & Registrations set a Risk Limiting Audit for Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and discussed how to staff and scope the audit given the size of the election.
Election Supervisor Ethan Compton told the board that 857 ballots were cast, producing 20 sub‑batches, and recommended assembling three audit teams to speed hand‑auditing. The board discussed that, given the number of ballots and the five contests on the ballot, it may be simpler to report results from a full count rather than just the randomly selected batches mandated by the Secretary of State for larger contests; the board said it will follow its bylaws about which contests to audit and will audit contests selected by the Secretary of State and any contests with margins within 10%.
The contests identified for auditing in the meeting record are Public Service Commission District 2 and City Council District 1. Chairman Waymond Harris also directed that the Absentee Voter Report be shared with both board representatives to ensure parity in document distribution ahead of the audit.
The RLA notice on the record lists an intended window of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. but notes the audit may finish sooner depending on actual workload.
