Irwin County board certifies June 17 special primary results

The Irwin County Board of Elections and Registrations certified the results of the June 17, 2025 special primary at its June 20 meeting, voting 3‑0 to approve the certification and affix the office seal.

Vice‑Chair Patricia Thurman moved to certify the results and Representative Wyatt Thompson seconded; Chairman Waymond Harris and staff then signed and sealed the certification documents. The certification followed a scheduled reconciliation of voter‑credit lists and poll‑pad check‑ins earlier in the day to verify vote counts and eligibility lists.

The board’s action completes the county’s formal certification step for the special primary and clears the way for post‑election processing, including a Risk‑Limiting Audit and any runoff procedures already on the county’s timeline.
