Ben Hill County approves resolution to apply for FY2024 Section 5311 transit grant

At its Oct. 4 meeting, the Ben Hill County Commission adopted a resolution authorizing the Southern Georgia Regional Commission to apply for FY2024 public transportation assistance under Title 49 U.S.C., Section 5311, with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Vice‑Chair Hope Harmon moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Daniel Cowan seconded. The minutes record that Hope Harmon, Daniel Cowan, Commissioner John Mooney and Chairman Steve Taylor voted in favor; Commissioner Bennie Calloway was absent.
