Ben Hill County recognizes National 4‑H Week; manager reports road project progress and seeks 4‑H facility

Leaders and youth from Ben Hill County 4‑H appeared at the Oct. 4 commission meeting to mark National 4‑H Week (Oct. 2–8) and describe the organization’s century‑long work in youth development. Agents Holly Anderson and Laura Lee Hughes and students Landon Sinyard, Nandini Patel, Thomas Holt and Lee Jay spoke to the commission about 4‑H activities and the program’s motto, “to make the best better.”

County Manager Michael Dinnerman thanked the leaders, said the county is looking for a building to house the 4‑H program, and reported that the Ed Ward road project is advancing. Commissioner Daniel Cowan later publicly thanked the 4‑H leaders and students for their dedication.
