Floyd County elections office says 2026 calendar is in effect, asks community for poll workers

At the Dec. 2, 2025 meeting of the Floyd County Board of Elections and Registration, Director Beck reported that the 2026 election calendar has been in effect since November and that staff are taking steps to prepare for the coming year.

Director Beck said the Elections Office is recruiting poll workers and reviewing current staff for potential advancement to fill future needs. The director also noted that vacancies for a March 2026 special election are currently undetermined and that the office will provide updates as positions and assignments are finalized.

Board members did not take formal action on staffing or specific vacancies at the Dec. 2 meeting. The comments were presented as operational updates intended to alert the board and the public that preparations and recruitment were underway.
