At its Oct. 7 meeting the Long County Board of Commissioners cleared several consent and routine items.
The board approved the September minutes on a motion by Commissioner Jeremy Hall (seconded by Commissioner John Reddish). Finance Director Bernice Johnson presented the financial report and the board authorized payment of bills on a motion by Commissioner Gerald Blocker.
Commissioners approved a $13,841.00 engine repair from Walker Jones Chevrolet for a Road Department pickup; the work includes a GM replacement motor with a 3-year/100,000-mile warranty and an estimated 5–10 day turnaround.
The board also voted to reschedule the November meeting to Nov. 21, 2025, to avoid Election Day and Veterans Day, and approved final plats for Doctors Creek Subdivision Phase 3A and Lanier Ridge Subdivision Phase 4A. All motions recorded in the minutes passed 4-0.
Items requiring additional follow-up (tax-digest hearing dates and an easement agreement tied to an entrance road) were tabled pending additional information.
