The Long County Board of Commissioners convened at 9:05 a.m. May 7, 2024, at 469 N. Macon St. in Ludowici and unanimously approved the meeting agenda, accepted the April 2024 minutes and authorized payment of bills before adjourning.
Chairman Robert Parker called the session to order. Pastor Lott delivered the invocation and the commissioners led the Pledge of Allegiance. Attendance recorded Commissioners Robert (Robert D.) Parker, Vice Chairman Gerald Blocker, Commissioner John Reddish, Commissioner James Craft and Commissioner Jeremy Hall, County Attorney James Smith, County Administrator Russell Simmons and County Clerk Brandi Smiley.
Commissioner John Reddish moved to approve the May 7, 2024 agenda; Commissioner Jeremy Hall seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Vice Chairman Gerald Blocker moved to approve the April 2024 minutes; Commissioner Reddish seconded and that motion also passed unanimously. Commissioner Jeremy Hall moved to authorize payment of bills; Vice Chairman Blocker seconded and the board approved the authorization unanimously.
Near the close of the short meeting, Vice Chairman Gerald Blocker moved to adjourn; Commissioner Reddish seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting record also includes an adoption line stating, “Adopted this 4th day of June, 2024,” followed by the board chair and county clerk names as shown in the minutes.
