The Long County Board of Commissioners completed several routine and administrative actions at its Nov. 12, 2024 meeting.
Consent and routine motions: The board unanimously approved the meeting agenda, the November 2024 minutes and authorized payment of county bills (motions passed 5-0).
Interim engineer: Commissioner Jeremy Hall moved to hire Brandon Purcell with Maverick Engineering as Interim Engineer for Long County; Commissioner John Reddish seconded and the motion passed unanimously (5-0).
Rebel Loop abandonment: Resident Vanessa Cunningham asked to take over maintenance of Rebel Loop and requested the county abandon the road. Commissioner Gerald Blocker moved to table the abandonment until the next commission meeting; Commissioner Jeremy Hall seconded and the motion passed unanimously (5-0).
Other motions: Commissioner Robert Parker moved to waive additional 2024 fees aside from the $150 Fire Safety Fee (passed 5-0); Commissioner Blocker moved to approve the Preliminary Plat for Tibet Road Subdivision Phase II (passed 4-1). The board recorded no executive session business and adjourned after completing the agenda.
