The Putnam County Board of Tax Assessors voted unanimously on Nov. 18 to remove 23 homestead exemptions for the 2026 tax year.
Chairman Shelby Storey presided as the board considered documentation attached to the minutes and approved the removals on a motion by John Richter, seconded by Virginia Daley. The minutes list a one‑page attachment that cites reasons for each removal.
Chief Appraiser Chuck Anglin presented two separate reinstatement requests tied to TrueRoll data flags. After reviewing new information provided by taxpayers, the board voted (Richter motion; Bales second) to reinstate homestead exemptions for parcels #057B‑226 and #E006‑312 and noted documentation was attached to the minutes.
Mr. Anglin also submitted two homestead applications for taxpayers claiming 100% disabled‑veteran status. On a motion by Shona Bales, seconded by Daley, the board unanimously approved an S5 exemption for parcel #093‑049 and an F5 exemption for parcel #126A‑037; copies of letters to the taxpayers were mailed and attached to the minutes.
The board’s actions were recorded in the minutes and supporting materials (release forms, approval sheets, and the list of removals) were attached. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Dec. 9, 2025; no appeals or legal challenges to these specific exemption removals were reported during this meeting.
