Residents press commissioners on road repairs and chapel driveway during public comment; county holds Comprehensive Plan Update hearing

Residents used the public-comment period and scheduled appearances at the Dec. 10 Screven County Commissioners meeting to press for permanent fixes to local road problems and to report damage to a church driveway.

During public comment, Zandra Overstreet expressed concerns about the potential abandonment of Blue Springs Road and voiced support for naming the county jail after Sheriff Mike Kile. Chairman Will Boyd opened a public hearing to brief the community on the Comprehensive Plan Update and to receive input. Overstreet asked whether each town had its own plan; Commissioner Edwin Lovett said the plan was available on the county website. Boyd closed the hearing after public comment.
