Assistant County Manager Mike Walker told the Tift County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 2 that it is time for the board’s annual appointment of the county clerk and the county attorney; the board asked that those items be placed on the Dec. 8 Regular Agenda for action.
County Clerk Miriam Jordan presented alcohol beverage license renewals during the work session and the board indicated those renewals should be placed on the Consent Agenda for Dec. 8.
During public comment, Tonya Green of 1113 S. Central Ave Lot 34 asked the board for assistance in moving her mobile home to 3108 1st Avenue; the work session minutes do not record a formal response or referral. County Manager Jim Carter was not present at the session.
Commissioner Donnie Hester asked attendees to pray for the family of longtime Tift County resident Walter Burgess. Commissioner Melissa Hughes announced her annual Coat Drive and invited the public to the Gnat Drop on Dec. 31, asking Chairman Tony McBrayer to give the welcome at that event.
No executive session was held and the work session adjourned with no further action recorded.
