Public Works Director Jason Jordan told the Tift County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 2 that bids for two major projects produced low bidders the county plans to place on the Sept. 8 consent agenda.
Jordan said the low bid for the FY25 LMIG resurfacing project — covering Academy Drive, Red Oak Road, Brookfield‑Nashville Road and Cravey Road (Cravey Road was added to the scope) — came from The Scruggs Company at $2,320,564.85. Funding would come from LMIG and SPLOST VI. He also said bids for the Omega‑Eldorado Road bridge replacement over Little River produced a low bidder of Southern Concrete Construction Company Inc. at $1,766,757.58; funding will come from the Transportation Investment Act (TIA).
The board indicated it wanted both awards placed on the consent agenda; no formal award vote was recorded at the Sept. 2 work session. Jordan’s presentation included the project list, the low bidders and the funding sources. The projects will proceed to contract award if the board ratifies the consent‑agenda items at the regular meeting.
