At its Sept. 2 work session, the Tift County Board of Commissioners indicated it would place a group of routine items on the Sept. 8 consent agenda, including administrative contracts, a transit application resolution, license renewals and board appointment items.
County Clerk Miriam Jordan said Resolution No. 2025‑19 is the county’s required authorization for the regional commission to apply for 5311 grant funds to the Georgia Department of Transportation for regional transit services. IT Director Al Stephenson said the Avigilon camera license for the pickleball courts must be renewed by Sept. 19 at a cost of $2,015.67 to preserve the vendor warranty; the cost is budgeted in the General Fund. Chief Appraiser Hayward Becton said the county proposes continuing a contract with Traylor Business Services Inc. for business personal property verification at a cost of $12,000.
Jordan also reported an alcohol beverage application from Mary Nell Morris for Mama Nell's Kitchen (2417 US Highway 82 East); zoning and distance requirements had been met and the sheriff recommended approval. She said staff recommended surplus sale of a 2015 Ford F‑150 in the Fire Department and transferring ownership of a 2015 Dodge Charger used as a courtesy vehicle to the Airport Authority so they may insure it. The board also reviewed several upcoming appointments to the Tift County Hospital Authority, the Athletic Advisory Committee and the Tifton‑Tift County Airport Authority; some seats had multiple nominees while others had incumbents willing to serve another term.
The items were presented as routine and placed on the consent agenda; formal board action will appear in the minutes after the Sept. 8 meeting.
