Jeff Davis Parish EDC holds special meeting, enters executive session and adjourns

The Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development Commission convened a special meeting at 5 p.m. March 10 at the Economic Development Office. Chairman Ronnie Petree called the session to order and Creed Romano, CEO/President, certified the minutes after adjournment.

The commission began with an opening prayer led by Chairman Ronnie Petree and the pledge of allegiance led by Commissioner Mike Heinen. Commissioner Mike Heinen moved to approve the meeting agenda; Marilyn Watkins seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

No members of the public offered comments during the public comment period, and the minutes record that there were no items of old business.

Under new business, Judy Petry moved and Shane Fontenot seconded a motion to move into executive session; the motion passed unanimously. Later in the same meeting, Marilyn Watkins moved and Carter Prejean seconded a motion to return the commission to regular session; that motion also passed unanimously.

The meeting concluded when Mike Heinen moved to adjourn; Judy Petry seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Creed Romano signed the minutes, certifying the record of the commission’s actions.

Attendance was recorded in the minutes and lists elected and advisory members present along with guests and staff. The minutes identify no formal votes on ordinances, contracts, budgets, or other substantive actions beyond procedural motions to enter and exit executive session and to adjourn.
