Grant County commissioners on April 3 approved a draft Grant County Road Agreement form intended to standardize county-level road agreements, following presentation by State's Attorney Grant Walker. Commissioner Marty Meyer moved approval; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Following that approval, representatives from multiple townships presented their 2024 Organized Township Road agreements to the board. Presenters and affiliations recorded in the minutes included Perry Finck and David Bauer for Elm Township; Ann LaDuke, Freda Township Clerk, for Freda Township; Myron Miller, listed as a Lark Township officer, for Lark Township; Merlin Leithold for Leipzig Township; Kevin Roth for Minnie Township; Keith Payne for Pretty Rock Township; Saul Meier, Larry Ulrich, Travis Rafteseth and Dennis Rivinius for Rock Township; and Owen and Melanie Wells for Winona Township. The minutes note that no one appeared for Howe Township or Raleigh Township.
The transcript records presentation activity but does not record board action approving or modifying individual township agreements at the meeting. County legal staff presented the draft county form and the board formally approved that form; the township presentations were recorded for the county record.
