Sheriff to advertise administrative assistant opening; county hires operator at $21/hour

Sheriff Harding told the Grant County Commissioners on April 17 that he will advertise for an administrative assistant in the Sheriff’s Department with a starting salary of $32,000 plus benefits for a 36–40 hour workweek; the position does not include on‑call duty or a county sheriff vehicle.

In personnel action, the board interviewed Ben Gifford and voted to hire him as an operator/truck driver at $21.00 per hour (motion by Hochhalter, second Meyer; unanimous vote). The board also approved refunding rental property deposits totaling $800 to Anthony Moore (motion by Meyer, second Hochhalter; unanimous vote).
