Representatives from Knife River Materials met with the board to present three special-use permit applications. Steff Basgaard, identified in the minutes as representing Knife River Materials, and Jackie Steinmetz presented the proposals to the commissioners.
The board approved Permit SCU-HWY49-01711210-A for borrow material on a motion by Commissioner Marty Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter. Approval was contingent on submission of a $90,000 reclamation bond and the motion passed with all present voting aye.
The board then approved Permit SCU-HWY49-02718100-B, also for borrow material, under the same condition of a $90,000 reclamation bond; that motion was moved by Meyer, seconded by Hochhalter, and passed unanimously.
Finally, the board approved Permit SCU-HWY49-14565500-C for aggregate storage and a hot-mix plant. That approval was contingent on a $45,000 reclamation bond, and passed on a motion by Meyer seconded by Hochhalter with all voting aye.
The minutes record the approvals and the required reclamation bonds; they do not record additional permit conditions or public comment at the meeting.
